WATERLOO, Iowa (September 13, 2018)—Essentially Women (EW) has released the schedule for its annual education conference for home medical equipment and mastectomy service providers.

FOCUS: The EW Conference will feature nearly 20 education sessions covering topics such as billing and reimbursement, succession planning, compliance and cyber security, compression therapy, mastectomy fitting, and marketing, to name a few.


WATERLOO, Iowa (May 2, 2018)—VGM Fulfillment, a division of VGM Group, Inc., announced the launch of its new compression stocking resupply program.

The addition of a flexible enterprise resource planning system and more than 20,000 square feet of additional warehouse and office space has led to the expansion the new program, complimenting VGM Fulfillment’s existing CPAP resupply program, which packs and ships more than two million orders to customers’ doorsteps annually.

Sleep-related equipment providers in D.C. area had major win.

WATERLOO, Iowa (March 28, 2018)—VGM recently helped solidify an important win for providers of sleep-related equipment in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia.

VGM took action after members raised concerns over a letter received from CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. In the letter, CareFirst notified providers of its intentions to reduce the number of durable medical equipment providers participating in the network authorized to dispense CPAP equipment.

ATLANTA (October 20, 2017)—The rumor is true. Show organizers are concluding this year’s Medtrade with a $5,000 cash giveaway. Qualifying to receive the prize is fairly easy.

ATLANTA (September 27, 2017)—Medtrade attendees asked for more retail/caretail-themed educational sessions, and organizers responded. One session in particular will address the crucial transition from a reimbursement model to retail and/or partial retail. The first step is often the most difficult, but Medtrade presenters Rob Baumhover and Maria Claire Markusen are experts in helping HME providers to take the leap.

The award recognizes the top business presentation at the AOPA World Congress.

LAS VEGAS (September 20, 2017)—VGM Group’s Ryan Ball received the Sam E. Hamontree Business Education Award during the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association’s (AOPA) World Congress.

The award, voted on by attendees, recognizes the best business education paper, idea and/or proposal presented at the annual education event for O&P professionals. Ball presented to a large audience who chose his presentation as the best among the finalists.      


After 25 years, Jim Phillips bids farewell but not goodbye.

WATERLOO, Iowa (June 1, 2017)—VGM Group, Inc.’s president and chief operating officer, Jim Phillips, has retired after 25 years with the company.

Phillips has served as the membership service organization’s COO since 2008 and was selected as president of VGM Group, Inc. in January of 2016. Phillips’ last day in the office was May 19.

The formal letter asks Price to step up implementation of industry concerns.

WATERLOO, Iowa (March 21, 2017)—VGM Group, Inc. has submitted a formal letter of regulatory priorities to Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Tom Price.

The letter outlines three top priorities that VGM's membership has identified that require immediate action from the administration in order to prevent reductions of access to care for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries.
