Expect 2023 to be a big year for Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), which have been gaining attention since the COVID-19 pandemic drew public attention to failures in the health care system. The PACE Innovation Act allows pilot programs to expand their reach, and the Alliance for PACE Innovation and Quality has launched a new project in 2023 designed to hit a target of 200,000 PACE participants in five years.

BALL GROUND, Georgia—CAIRE Inc., a global manufacturer of oxygen therapy and on-site generation systems, has finalized the acquisition of St. Paul, Minnesota-based MGC Diagnostics Holdings, Inc. (MGC). This acquisition strengthens CAIRE’s position and focus on diagnostic technologies furthering expanding its expertise in serving patients throughout the progression of pulmonary disease, the company said in a news release. 

ERLANGER, Kentucky—Adaptive Imports has a new president and clinical director: Melissa “Missy” Tally.

Tally will oversee the United States sales and distribution of complex rehabilitation equipment brands including: Jenx, Hoggi, Krabat, SafeSpaces and HeadOvations. She will will focus on support for Adaptive Imports’ national team of independent sales representatives, customers, assistive technology professionals (ATPs), clinicians and referral sources.

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Illinois–The Joint Commission announced it is eliminating 168 standards, or 14% overall, and revising 14 other standards across its accreditation programs to streamline requirements and make them as efficient and impactful on patient safety, quality and equity as possible. That includes deleting 10 homecare standards and revising one.
