(August 22, 2022)—Empath Health and Hospice of Marion County (HMC) announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to begin the process of affiliating HMC with Empath Health. Empath Health currently has three hospice organizations operating within its network including Tidewell Hospice, Suncoast Hospice and Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 12, 2022)—The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and their contractor, Abt Associates, are recruiting additional Medicare-certified hospice providers to participate in a beta test of the draft hospice patient assessment instrument called Hospice Outcomes & Patient Evaluation (HOPE). Recruitment is ongoing and training will occur on a rolling basis. Data collection begins when training is completed and is expected to continue through fall 2022.
BATON ROUGE, La. (July 28, 2022)—Second quarter earnings for Amedisys are down $6.3 million compared to 2021, the company said in a press release this week. The report covered the three-month period ending June 30.
The company’s adjusted earnings before tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) were also down nearly 11%, from $83.8 million to $74.4 million.
