WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 31, 2017)—At the Association’s annual membership meeting at this year’s Washington Legislative Conference, AAHomecare elected new leadership, installing Steve Ackerman (CEO, Spectrum Medical, Inc.—Silver Spring, Md.) as chairman of the Board. Other officers elected include:

LENEXA, Kan. (May 30, 2017)—Mediware Information Systems, Inc. announced today that it has finalized an agreement to acquire Kinnser Software, Inc., a provider of software solutions for home health and hospice providers. The transaction, backed by TPG Capital, enables Mediware to expand its portfolio in the home health and hospice space, creating an integrated, high-growth software provider for the alternate care market. Mediware is purchasing Kinnser from Insight Venture Partners.

ROSEVILLE, Iowa (May 25, 2017)—In an effort spearheaded by Midwest Association for Medical Equipment Services (MAMES) and its president, Patrick Naeger, independent HME suppliers have gained the attention of the House Small Business Committee. Much like the concerns prompting a letter being circulated by Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) and others, the Small Business Committee is gravely concerned by the 38 percent reduction in providers in such a short period.

ROSEVILLE, Calif.
