(May 13, 2022)—Medicaid can directly pay for independent home health aides' benefits, including health insurance and skills training, according to a final rule the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued Thursday. The final rule allows State Medicaid agencies to provide home health aides not working with an agency employee benefit premiums and union dues deducted from their paychecks.

(May 12, 2022)—Research is now underway for the study “Racial Bias in Orthotics and Prosthetics,” a recipient of a 2021 American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) and Center for Orthotic and Prosthetic Learning and Outcomes/Evidence-Based Practice (COPL) Pilot Grant. The Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) committed $30,000 to fund the study, which is the first of its kind in the orthotics and prosthetics (O&P) field.
