WATERLOO, Iowa—VGM Group announced its board of directors recently elected two new members: Steve Ryan, senior vice president of client services at GreatBanc in Chicago, and Rebecca Ehretsman, president of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. These two new members replace VGM co-founders John Deery, Jr., who resigned from his position on the board at the end of 2023, and the late Jim Walsh, who passed away on Oct. 12, 2023.

Tyler Mahncke, current vice president of U.S. Rehab, will take over leading

WATERLOO, Iowa—Greg Packer of U.S. Rehab has announced his retirement as president, effective at the end of 2023.

Packer will still maintain his relationship with VGM on a consulting basis through at least 2024 and will maintain his position as the current president of the National Coalition For Assistive & Rehab Technology (NCART).

WATERLOO, Iowa—On Monday, Oct. 16 VGM Group, Inc. announced both the passing of the company co-founder and board chairman, Jim Walsh as well as a series of planned leadership transitions expected to take place in the coming months.

According to VGM, Walsh died of natural causes in his home on Thursday, Oct. 12, surrounded by his family. He was 74.

WASHINGTON—The American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) and VGM are partnering on a new virtual advocacy event to bolster awareness and support for active Medicare reimbursement legislation as Congress enters final legislative weeks of the year. As the team at VGM sees it, MHFA certification is just one more way they can help protect the well-being of VGM employee owners

WATERLOO, Iowa—VGM Group, Inc. recently announced that the entire team in its human resources department has achieved Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) certification. MHFA is a program of the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. Similar to physical First Aid and CPR, MHFA helps people assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis until professional assistance is obtained or the crisis is resolved.

The agreement, effective Saturday, April 1, solidifies the first program of its kind for VGM’s membership community.
