WellSky said its new artificial intelligence-powered capabilities will allow faster patient intake response times

OVERLAND PARK, Kansas—WellSky, a global health and community care technology and services company, announced the launch of the next-generation WellSky CarePort Referral Intake solution. Evolving from the CarePort and Curaspan solutions, this new platform unites the most valued features with artificial intelligence (AI)-powered capabilities to streamline intake workflows and generate document summaries to allow faster referral response times.

The WellSky CarePort Referral Intake solution leverages WellSky Summarize, a WellSky SkySense AI tool that scans each referral packet, pulls out key patient information and turns it into a concise, easy-to-read summary within seconds, helping providers quickly assess patient needs and respond faster.

“We’re excited to modernize our referral management process with WellSky CarePort Referral Intake,” said Debbie Bobe, vice president of business development at The New Jewish Home (TNJH). “The AI-generated clinical summaries are helping our team review and respond to referrals more quickly and efficiently, enhancing our ability to serve patients with greater speed and precision. Our hospital partners can reduce their length of stay and entrust their most complex cases to the clinical team at TNJH. It’s a win-win for all.”

Beyond improving referral response speed, WellSky said the intake solution streamlines intake from multiple referral sources, including eFax and other hospital care transition systems in addition to WellSky, ensuring flexibility and interoperability across workflows. The solution offers a centralized view of all referral data, enabling providers to monitor referral volume, response times and patient placements in real time.

"In today’s fast-paced health care landscape, post-acute providers must move quickly and decisively to stay ahead," said WellSky Chairman and CEO Bill Miller. “That’s why we built the WellSky CarePort Referral Intake solution—to give providers a competitive edge that helps them grow their organizations while delivering better outcomes for the patients they serve.”
