WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 21, 2013—If you've reached your breaking point with CMS’ bidding program, the time to act is now! Make plans today to fly in to Washington, D.C., this Wednesday (Feb. 27) to meet with your members of Congress face-to-face. Your state association will help you to schedule the meetings and coordinate with other home care community stakeholders from your area. Get talking points and an issue summary on the AAHomecare website.

Get in touch with your referral sources, patients and their families with details about the fly-in because they will also suffer the consequences of a decimated DME sector. They need to fight for their futures and make sure that Congress understands that CMS’ dangerous bidding program must be stopped before Round 2 prices take effect in just 132 days.

Room 5C (next to room 509) in the Cannon House Office Building will be available from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm to pick up resource materials, assemble with members of your state association, and also as a place to rest and relax after all your hard work.

VGM has reserved a block of rooms at the Courtyard Washington Capitol Hill/Navy Yard Hotel. Call 866-329-0003 for reservations. Be sure to mention the VGM Group. If you prefer to stay at a different hotel, please be aware that rooms in downtown Washington may be difficult to find at this time of year. However, if you check hotels in northern Virginia—such as in Arlington and Alexandria—you may have more success. Try to find a room on either the orange or blue Metro lines as these subway lines will take you directly to Capitol South Station (near House office buildings), or on the red Metro line that will take you directly to Union Station (near Senate office buildings). Also, consider flying into Reagan Washington National Airport because that is the most convenient airport to Arlington, Alexandria and downtown Washington.
