Uplift Technologies, based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, launched its Second Annual Charity Challenge April 20 to provide support for arthritis research and other charitable causes. Throughout the event, which coincides with National Arthritis Month, Uplift will tally sales of its Uplift and Upeasy lift cushions and either make a donation on behalf of qualifying customers to the charity of their choice, or make a direct charitable donation to support arthritis research. The challenge will run through May 31.

According to Uplift President Michael Speraw, "Our products help many people who suffer with arthritis; that's about one in five American adults. We're getting older and this makes support for arthritis research more important than ever to deal with a growing problem." Speraw said last year's challenge raised more than $10,000.
