ADDISON, Texas (October 1, 2019)—Elara Caring, a provider of home health care services, announced the appointment of Scott Powers as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Powers, a health care industry veteran, will focus on completing the integration of the company, enhancing processes and leading the company’s growth objectives.

Powers was most recently the president and chief operating officer at Alignment Healthcare, a company focused on delivering Medicare Advantage plans to senior citizens. He has also served in senior executive roles at Cambia Health Solutions, Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, Alvarez & Marsal and Intel Corporation.

“At Elara Caring, our No. 1 priority is to deliver high-quality care to the 60,000 patients we serve across the nation,” said Adam Blumenthal, chairman of the board of directors at Elara Caring. “We are very excited to have Scott Powers as the new CEO at Elara Caring. Scott is a proven operational leader, and we believe he is the best person to lead the company into the next phase of its evolution.”

“Homecare is the future of health care and I’m honored to lead Elara Caring moving forward,” said Powers. “Our mission will not change. We are committed to providing the Right Care, at the Right Time, in the Right Place. The company has made strong inroads over the past year and I’m honored to bring my operational and patient-focused experience to help deliver high-quality care and accelerated growth.”

Powers holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Arizona State University.

Powers replaces G. Scott Herman as CEO. Herman, who is leaving the business to pursue other opportunities, was instrumental in the vision that led to Elara Caring being formed, after the merger of three regional home health care providers in 2018. Herman’s visionary approach helped Elara Caring through its initial stage of development.
