MINNEAPOLIS, MN—Ottobock announces a new partnership with Norwegian company Krabat AS, a developer of high quality aids for children and youth. With a focus on being innovative, functional and aesthetically attractive, the aids are fun and interesting to use and encourage activity that facilitates mastering and progression.

The agreement grants Ottobock exclusive distribution rights in North America for three products:

• Krabat Pirat: A floating aid that gives a child new opportunities to be independent in the water and that stimulates self-activity.

• Krabat Pilot: An aid that facilitates crawling.

• Krabat Jockey Plus: An active children's chair that provides considerable mobility and variation.

Matt Swiggum, Ottobock's Vice President of Mobility Solutions, US HealthCare, says the partnership is beneficial on many levels and places special emphasis on the ideal solutions these products bring when the development of mobility for these children is at its most critical point.

"We are excited and eager to integrate these innovative and aesthetically pleasing products into early intervention programs simply because we know how much early locomotion can benefit the young children we work with. These high quality aids fill unique niches and are an excellent fit for the Ottobock portfolio, and we look forward to their impact on children and their families as we bring them to the North American market ."
