HALIFAX, Va., Nov. 13, 2012—From Wayne Stanfield, president and CEO of the National Association of Independent Medical Equipment Suppliers (NAIMES): The election is over and the campaign ads are gone. There is the usual crop freshmen Representatives and Senators. The DME industry must now engage those new lawmakers and help them understand the value of home care and our ability to save millions of Medicare dollars. This will be a very busy time for these newly elected officials, but if you can catch them at home before they start to move to DC, make the case for home care and DME.

While we lost a few champions of DME, we may have gain many more in the new 113th Congress. Not many champions just happen, they are nurtured and educated by the constituent community. Here is the state-by-state list of newly elected members of Congress. If one of these new Representatives or Senators is yours, now is the time to begin developing the relationship we need for the future.
