Medtrade Spring 2012 attendance hit 4,250, a 2 percent increase over last year, organizers of the show said.
“The decision makers with buying power were well represented at this year’s show,” said Kevin Gaffney, show director. “It’s a modest jump over last year, and it shows that providers are continuing to keep a positive approach as they search for solution in the wake of competitive bidding.”
Four exhibitors earned booth awards:
• Best Booth Award went to NOVA, a California-based manufacturer of mobility, bathroom safety and independent living products.
• Innovation Award went to Utah-based Stander, which produces home mobility products.
• The Provider’s Choice Award went to Transcend Sleep Apnea Therapy System, a small CPAP device and its solar technology for charging batteries. Transcend is a Minnesota-based company.
• The Merit Award for the product that best improves patients’ quality of life went to Dry Corp., a North Carolina-based company that manufactures Dry Pro, a surgical rubber sleeve that fits over casts, bandages and other medical elements that must remain dry.
