ATLANTA, June 28, 2012—Nielsen Expositions is allotting 4,500 square feet for a Home and Retail Design Center on the Expo floor of Medtrade this fall to put greater emphasis on retail sales.
Kevin Gaffney, group show director for Medtrade, said demand has steadily increased for retail options, and that will be reflected this year with the Home and Retail Design Center and appropriate seminars. “The time is right for a more robust retail focus,” he said.
Jerry Keiderling, president, Accessible Home Improvement of America, VGM Group, said in a release prepared by Medtrade that the time is right to focus on Medicare alternatives and he will be working on the center.
“Providers must look for diverse opportunities to bring in revenue,” he said. “The retail cash market is one way to do that using existing clients, referral sources and different product lines. If you are looking for pain management and accessibility issues, you want to walk into a showroom that has many options.”
Rob Baumhover, director of Retail Programs, VGM, said he will work with Keiderling to replicate the ideal showroom floor, complete with product categories and various vignettes that showcase products in the proper environment.
Medtrade is scheduled Oct. 15-18 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Go to www.medtrade.com.
