WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 3, 2021)—The American Association of Homecare (AAHomecare) has added two highly experienced home medical equipment (HME) leaders to its board of directors with this week’s appointment of Matt Mellott and Tom Pontzius to fill a pair of vacant slots.
 
Matt Mellott, president and CEO of Brightree, brings 30-plus years of experience in the health care industry to the AAHomecare Board. He has served as CEO of Brightree since 2016 and has an extensive background in healthcare operations and finance. Prior to joining Brightree, Mellott was president of MedBridge Healthcare, a sleep disorder diagnostic testing and respiratory therapy provider he co-founded in 2004. He has also previously been a member the board of the National Sleep Foundation.
 
Tom Pontzius, who recently took the reins as president of  3B Medical Products, also possesses more than 30 years of experience in healthcare. Before moving to 3B Medical, he was the leader of industry advocacy and business development for Philips and had served in other leadership roles in the company since 2008. Previous to that, Pontzius was division president with The VGM Group’s Nationwide Respiratory subsidiary. He was also a member of AAHomecare’s board before leaving Philips.
