Invacare Corp., a leading manufacturer of HME, has renewed its commitment to Medtrade’s spring and fall shows with a presence emphasizing solutions over products, officials announced last week.
Doug Harper, group vice president of North America sales and market development for Invacare, said the company felt it was important to participate in the event given the tumultuous state of the HME industry.
“With all that is going on with national competitive bidding, we feel it’s a critical time for us to be in front of our customers,” Harper said. “Lines of credit are being reduced at local banks, and it’s our responsibility and desire to be at Medtrade Spring meeting customers and helping them build their business.”
Invacare’s relatively small booth—200 square feet—reflects an attitude that now is not the time to show off hardware. “This year’s message is clearly about solutions, and not about product,” Harper said. “We did not think it was appropriate to bombard attendees with products and product descriptions at this time.”
Medtrade Spring begins with the Brightree workshop on Monday, April 9, and pre-show seminars on Tuesday morning. Conference sessions begin Tuesday afternoon, and wrap up on April 12. The Expo show floor opens on Wednesday, from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m., and on Thursday, from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
Events are scheduled for the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas. Medtrade 2012 is set for the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta from Oct. 15-18.
