WATERLOO, Iowa—The Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation (HQAA) announced the appointment of Craig Douglas as its next executive director, succeeding Rhonda Pearce, who is retiring after 21 years of dedicated leadership and service to the organization.
Rhonda joined HQAA in 2005, and has served as their executive director since 2016. HQAA said she has been a guiding force for the organization, overseeing major initiatives such as developing and further modernizing HQAA’s programs, while also contributing time and resources to better the surrounding community.
“We would like to thank Rhonda for her years of dedicated service and commitment to HQAA,” said Carol Laumer, chair of the board of directors. “Her leadership, commitment and vision have certainly positioned us for continued success.”
Following a comprehensive search process, the board selected Craig Douglas as HQAA’s new executive director, who brings 27 years of experience in the durable medical equipment, prosthetics and orthotics supplies (DMEPOS) industry, including roles such as vice president of payer relations and senior vice president of home medical equipment, respiratory and wellness.
“We are excited to bring Craig’s industry experience and leadership to HQAA” said Laumer. “We believe he is the right leader to guide HQAA into its next chapter.”
“I’m honored to build on the strong foundation established by Rhonda," said Douglas. "I look forward to honoring what she has accomplished here, and continuing to advance HQAA’s mission of assisting reputable, high quality health care providers while also doing our part to minimize any fraud, waste and abuse in the DMEPOS industry.”
Pearce will continue to support the transition over the coming weeks, ensuring a smooth transition of responsibilities.
