BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (July 28, 2020)—HomeCare Media is proud to introduce HomeCare Heroes, a special effort dedicated to demonstrating gratitude for the frontline workers in the industry who have gone above and beyond to help their communities.

By drawing nominations from readers and selecting finalists to feature, the magazine team will devote the November print issue to highlighting special individuals who have continued their critical work—either in home medical equipment or in-home care—to keep patients and clients safe at home. The effort is designed to acknowledge the role the industry plays in the continuum of care.

“I’ve heard it over and over again in the past few months: Even in the midst of a life-altering pandemic, homecare remains one of the least appreciated parts of the health care system,” said HomeCare Editor Hannah Wolfson. “We’d like to do our part to change that and to tell the stories of those on the ground making a difference.”

In addition to profiling finalists in November, HomeCare will share their stories online and across its social media platforms. Readers are asked to nominate their unsung heroes through September 15, 2020, at homecaremag.com/heroes.

To be considered, nominees must:

  • Work in the home medical equipment and/or home health and hospice industry in the United States
  • Help clients or patients remain safely at home
  • Be respected by industry peers, leaders and clients
  • Put patient outcomes first, even in difficult times and especially during the public health emergency
  • Make outstanding contributions to the industry and/or community

Sponsorships are available for the four-month campaign; sponsors should be compassionate brands who wish to honor the strengths and sacrifices of these often-unrecognized health care heroes.
