Founders committed to professionalism, compassion & excellence

NASHVILLE, Tennessee—A group of experts in home and health care services in the South announced the launch of Avenues Home Care, dedicated to providing quality, reliable and trustworthy care to adults, seniors and veterans in need.

Avenues Home Care leverages its expertise and local community knowledge to provide homecare services across more than 100 communities in Texas, Tennessee and Northwest Georgia, with ongoing expansion plans. The core group of local agencies includes AA Care Services serving San Antonio and New Braunfels, Sentinel Homecare, with offices in Johnson City and Morristown, Tenn., SunLife in Dallas, and Comprehensive Care in Nashville, Dalton and Chattanooga. All agencies will transition to the Avenues brand over time. Key personnel at the local agencies will remain in place to ensure connections to existing clients as well as their respective communities and resources.

"We want to change the paradigm for homecare agencies," said Doug Markham, CEO of Avenues. "For years, many of the people who provided care to our older or disabled loved ones have been from small agencies with few resources or out-of-state franchise holders. There should be another option for families that stresses the importance of local roots and resources while emphasizing quality, professionalism and highly individualized care."

Avenues Home Care is poised to address this demand through a comprehensive array of services, including helping with essential tasks of daily living, medication assistance, meal preparation, companionship, transportation, light housekeeping and more. Additionally, the company supports veterans through programs like the VA Homemaker and Home Health Aide program.

Spearheading the effort to provide quality programs and to build a network of exceptional caregivers, Helen Trowsdale, RN, BSN, founder of AA Care Services and the chief quality officer for Avenues Home Care, notes that providing personalized and compassionate care is central to the company's mission. With more than 30 years of experience as a nurse and senior advocate and certification as an Aging Life Care Professional, she's well-positioned to lead the effort.

"When I set out to create AA Care Services, I wanted to empower and support individuals caring for their elderly or disabled family members in their homes," said Trowsdale. "Joining the Avenues Home Care family is the next step in my journey to create better homecare programs for families, their loved ones, and our caregivers. My team and I look forward to continuing to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve."
