WASHINGTON—As of Friday, 75 U.S. representatives have
signed on to H.R. 1041 to repeal competitive bidding. Introduced
March 11, the Fairness in Medicare Bidding Act has garnered broad
bipartisan support. Here’s how the American Association for
Homecare says you can keep the momentum going:
• Visit the Save Homecare campaign site (www.capwiz.com) where you
can email your U.S. Representative and sign up to become a
grassroots advocate for HME.
• To see whether your U.S. Representative has signed on to
H.R. 1041, check the cosponsor list atwww.aahomecare.org/hr1041 to
look at the state-by-state roster. If your representative has
already cosponsored the bill, please send a thank-you
message.
• If not, dial the U.S. Capitol switchboard at 202/224-3121
for direct connection to your congressman. Then ask that he or she
cosponsor H.R. 1041 now!
• At Medtrade Spring, which opens tomorrow at the Sands Expo
and Convention Center in Las Vegas, stop by the H.R. 1041 Command
Center at the AAHomecare booth (#2419) on the show floor. The
association will have computers and ready-to-use email messages so
all attendees can send a direct message to their representatives.
Staff will be on hand to walk you through the process.
