WASHINGTON—As maneuvering in Congress to pass a budget reconciliation act officially kicks off, Katie Smith Sloan, president and CEO of LeadingAge, the association of nonprofit and mission-driven providers of aging services, called on House and Senate members to ensure the needs of older adults and the people who serve them are met.

Chillicothe, Ohio—Adena Health announced a joint venture partnership with DASCO Home Medical Equipment to enhance home medical equipment (HME) services across south central and southern Ohio.

The collaboration will be jointly owned by Adena and DASCO, and operate as Adena-DASCO Home Medical Equipment effective Tuesday, Feb. 18.

The Stopping Addiction & Falls for the Elderly (SAFE) Act aims to better assess fall risks among seniors through Medicare annual wellness benefits

WASHINGTON—Congresswomen Carol Miller (R-WV) and Melanie Stansbury (D-NM) reintroduced the Stopping Addiction and Falls for the Elderly (SAFE) Act. The SAFE Act aims to permit occupational and physical therapists to administer falls risks assessments for seniors as part of their Medicare annual wellness benefit.
