The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has released updates to three major durable medical equipment reimbursement lists

WASHINGTON—Earlier this week, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) updated several lists that cover durable medical equipment (DME) reimbursement authorization. The three lists updated were the required face-to-face and written order prior to delivery list (Required F2F/WOPD), the required prior authorization list and the master list. 

The warranty for lymphedema pneumatic compression devices has been expanded to five years

AUDUBON, Pennsylvania—AIROS Medical, a medical technology manufacturer specializing in compression therapy solutions for lymphedema and venous disorders, announced a longer warranty for its line of pneumatic sequential compression devices.

The AIROS 6P and AIROS 8P sequential compression devices now have a five-year warranty. The previous warranty for these devices was three years. All devices sold after Jan. 1, 2026 are subject to the five-year warranty.

The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission voted to approve draft recommendations that would reduce payment rates by 7%

Medical supply company owner Mark Loftis was indicted on charges of submitting fraudulent claims for DME supplies

CUSHING, Oklahoma—Mark Loftis, a medical supply company owner and chiropractor was charged for his alleged role in a conspiracy to submit fraudulent claims to multiple federal health care programs. The claims were for orthotic braces and other durable medical equipment (DME). Loftis was also charged for the theft of government fund intended to support health care providers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
