Anna Lawson will be the new CCO for Village Caregiving after nearly two years as vice president of provider relations

BARBOURSVILLE, West Virginia—Village Caregiving (VCG), a privately-owned homecare agency in the United States, announced the appointment of Anna Lawhon to chief compliance officer (CCO).

In this role, Lawhon will oversee and lead the company’s compliance team to ensure strict adherence to all federal, state and program requirements, such as Medicaid; the development of companywide policies and procedures; and ongoing professional education and training of its staff and caregivers. She was promoted to the executive position after serving nearly two years as vice president of provider relations.

“Compliance can be such a daunting, looming word, but our goal is to be the opposite,” said Lawhon. “As CCO, I am committed to embedding compliance into our daily operations and strengthening our training for local teams. This will help them anticipate and prevent issues, positioning them for growth and success while ensuring every client receives exceptional care."

“I’m excited to work with Anna in her new role,” said Jeff Stevens, co-founder and CEO of Village Caregiving. “Anna’s passion for helping clients is clear as she consistently comes up with new ideas to help improve the services we provide. With her expanded responsibilities and her leadership, I’m confident we will continue to elevate our standard of care as we grow to support more seniors and families across America.”

Lawhon joined VCG in 2022 as the director of clinical quality, bringing her medical training and experience as an oncology nurse. During her time at the company, she has led various initiatives, including developing and implementing company-wide documentation standards, caregiver and director-level training programs and credentialing for Medicaid and other federal and state health care programs.

“I became a nurse to help people,” said Lawhon. “However, I soon realized that my impact was limited to just a shift. I wanted to be in a position to address the challenges of care instead of just managing them for the day. Village Caregiving has offered wonderful opportunities for me to grow, and this role allows me to make an even greater impact on the care for others.”
