MT. JULIET, Tennessee—Sunrise Medical announced the launch of the Empulse F35, the latest addition to its power assist portfolio. Designed for everyday independence, the F35 blends modern styling with practical power to help riders navigate city streets, run errands or explore with ease.
With an all-in-one, ultra-slim frame and foldable handle—roughly the length of a golf umbrella—the F35 is easy to transport and simple to stow away when not in use. It weighs 19.8 lbs., with a transport weight of just 16.5 lbs., making it about 30% lighter than traditional power pull devices. Whether heading to the office or hopping on a plane, the F35 redefines portability and convenience.
The F35 delivers indoor navigation and outdoor performance. It offers a range of up to 9.3 miles on a full charge and includes an intelligent battery management system paired with a 4Ah battery for consistent, efficient performance. Riders can choose from three speed modes—slow (3.7 mph), standard (6.2 mph), and fast (up to 9.3 mph)—and select from three acceleration profiles (slow, standard and fast) to match the terrain or their preference.
Travelers will appreciate that the F35 is airline friendly. Its IATA-compliant battery remains installed during flights, with only a simple fuse removal required to meet airline regulations. As always, riders should check with their airline in advance for specific instructions.
The patent-pending one-motion docking system makes it easy to connect or disconnect the F35 in seconds, whether for quick transitions during errands or to pack it up for travel. For transfers to a bed, couch or car, riders can remove the entire device using the included frame clamps. This flexible design makes the F35 an everyday companion.
“With the launch of the F35, the Empulse family now includes three distinct power assist solutions tailored to different rider needs,” said Parker Landry-Murphy, associate product manager of power assist at Sunrise Medical. “The F35 is a sleek, compact pull device ideal for independent users navigating urban terrain. The R90 provides discreet rear-mounted power that maintains the size and maneuverability of your wheelchair, with push-button propelling from an easy-to-use control box. The R20 is designed to support caregivers with push assist for reduced strain during daily mobility.”
