McKINNEY, Texas (February 26, 2019)—Soleo Health, a provider of complex specialty pharmacy and infusion services administered in the home and alternate sites of care, announced today the company recently earned two accreditations: Home Care Accreditation from The Joint Commission and Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation from URAC.

The company underwent a thorough on-site survey, earning The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Home Care Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal of Approval is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective care. During the survey process, compliance with homecare standards reflecting key organization areas was evaluated, including the provision of care, treatment and services, emergency management, human resources, individual rights and responsibilities, and leadership.

"When individuals engage a homecare provider, they want to be sure that provider is capable of providing safe, quality care,” said Margherita Labson, RN, MS, executive director, Home Care Accreditation Program, The Joint Commission. “As the homecare setting becomes increasingly popular, it is important that homecare providers are able to demonstrate that they are capable of providing safe, high quality care. Accreditation by The Joint Commission serves as an indication that the organization has demonstrated compliance to these recognized standards of safe and quality care.”

Soleo Health also was awarded Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation from URAC, an independent nonprofit organization promoting health care quality through leadership, accreditation, measurement and innovation. The company earned a score of 97.62 percent, revealed during the review process in which a rigorous, transparent and comprehensive examination of Soleo Health’s systems, processes and performance was completed. To receive URAC’s accreditation, Soleo Health displayed its full-service pharmacy capabilities in serving patients with complex conditions who require medications that are injected or infused and typically require special handling and other specialty expertise.

URAC President and CEO Kylanne Green further explained the importance of URAC accreditation: “It’s necessary for specialty pharmacies to provide a higher level of treatment for patients so desired outcomes are achieved. Soleo Health shows a dedication to patient education and safety through the recognition of quality it received with URAC’s independent accreditation. With URAC accreditation, people know that Soleo Health strives to adhere to industry best practices.”

“Earning accreditation from The Joint Commission and URAC is evidence of our mission and commitment to providing the highest quality of care,” noted Soleo Health Chief Executive Officer Drew Walk.

“Our entire team is completely dedicated to enhancing our patients’ experience while striving to achieve exceptional clinical outcomes in the most cost-effective manner. Both the URAC and The Joint Commission accreditations afford the Company the opportunity to continually review and refine its quality improvement program to meet the high standards and goals we set for ourselves and our patients,” Walk concluded.
