New rtNOW Engage adds virtual PAP setup and CPAP, BiPAP and non-invasive ventilation adherence

FRANKENMUTH, Michigan—RtNOW, a provider of virtual respiratory therapy, announced the launch of rtNOW Engage, a  suite of service lines to support durable medical equipment (DME) companies in delivering patient care.

The company said the program enhances its offerings to include virtual CPAP and BiPAP setup; CPAP, BiPAP and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) adherence; and follow-up checks for NIV and BiPAP patients to meet the new coverage criteria from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the evolving needs of DMEs and their patients.

“The introduction of rtNOW Engage comes at a critical time, as CMS’s updated reimbursement and compliance guidelines for respiratory assist devices (including CPAPs, BiPAPs and NIVs) require further documentation, which rtNOW Engage provides,” said rtNOW CEO Chuck Stadler Jr. The new line "represents our commitment to empowering respiratory care for DME providers and their patients in compliant, scalable and meaningful ways,” he added.

Key features Include:

  • Virtual CPAP and BiPAP Setup: Expert-led, remote setup services to guide patients through the initial use of their respiratory devices, ensuring proper education.
  • Initial PAP Adherence Support: 90-Day advocating and monitoring by a respiratory therapist to help patients maintain compliance with therapy, improving long-term health outcomes.
  • NIV and Bi-PAP Follow-Up Checks: Specialized quarterly virtual assessments to optimize non-invasive ventilation therapy, support patient comfort and resupply needs, and provide required documentation of the improvement of symptoms for individuals with chronic respiratory failure consequent to COPD.
  • Initial Six-Month NIV and Bi-PAP Adherence Program: BiPAP and NIV patients with chronic respiratory failure consequent to COPD now have six months to become compliant under new CMS rules. Ongoing virtual advocating and monitoring fosters the one-on-one patient and respiratory therapist relationship.
  • Ongoing NIV and Bi-PAP Adherence Program: New programs designed to address ongoing compliance required by CMS for NIV, and beneficial for BiPAP and CPAP patients for resupply.
