ResMed, Poway, Calif., has reported record-breaking financial results for the quarter and six months ended Dec. 31. Revenue for the 2008 quarter was $223 million, a 10 percent increase over the same quarter in 2007. Net income was $33.9 million, an increase of 26 percent. For the six months, revenue was $440.9 million, a 14 percent increase over the six months ended Dec. 31, 2007.
ResMed President and CEO Kieran T. Gallahue attributed the growth in part to the company's launch of its Activa LT mask and the Swift LT for Her, its first gender-specific product, along with momentum from the VPAP product line. "Looking forwrd," he said, "our pipeline of products schedued for release over the next 18 months remains full and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to bringing innovative technologies to market across both the mask and flow generator product lines."
