DULUTH, Minn. (October 17, 2017)—The 2017 MAMES Fall Excellence in HME Conference closed out on Friday, October 6, 2017 in Welch, Minnesota with record-breaking fall conference attendance and an incredible 40 percent increase in attendance from 2016. Attendees also rated the educational, informational, networking and display hall event a record-breaking perfect 4.0, the highest ever recorded rating for a MAMES Fall Excellence in HME Conference.
“While the addition of our wonderful MAMES members accounted for almost half of the increase in attendance we were still up over 20 percent before the additional attendees from Wisconsin,” said MAMES executive director, Rose Schafhauser.
For the sixth consecutive MAMES event 100 percent of our rating display hall vendors rated the MAMES Fall Excellence in HME Conference the best state or regional show they attend. Citing great display hall attendance and great attendee interaction in the hall as the top reasons for this continuing 100 percent rating.
"Attendance started strong right from our first day of registration opening," said Schafhauser. "And that strength that carried right through to the night before the event which really pushed us over the top! Our MAMES members always amaze me with their dedication and desire to learn and more importantly to share with their fellow members. It is truly wonderful to be a part of this group."
"Our MAMES education committee really did a great job again this year of providing ideas for new and exciting programs that our members need to succeed going forward. With new programs for retail, reimbursement, rehab and a new “Speed Dating Round Table” session with twelve different topics available led by the best in the industry we really had a great line up to add to the always informative Washington Update," said Schafhauser. “And by adding in inspirational speakers like Matthew Sanford, founder of Mind Body Solutions, and Ms. Wheelchair America, Sheri Melander-Smith from Minnesota we truly we able to bring an uplifting and informative event to our members.” Continued Schafhauser, “And of course we could never host such a great event without the support of our 27 MAMES Conference Sponsors! MAMES will host the 2018 MAMES Spring Excellence in HME Convention & Exhibition on April 25–27, 2018 at the Embassy Suites on the River, Des Moines, Iowa. Watch for registration to open with membership renewals in November.
