SPARTANBURG, South Carolina—Hands of Hope, Agape Care Group’s multi-state home-based pediatric program, has achieved program certification from Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP). One of only nine hospice programs in the nation to achieve distinctive pediatric certification, Hands of Hope offers palliative and hospice care for people age 21 and younger in South Carolina, Georgia and in several areas of North Carolina. The Hands of Hope team works closely with the child’s existing care teams to develop personalized treatment plans for life-limiting illness.
CHAP is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body for home- and community-based health care organizations. Hands of Hope is the pediatric program of Agape Care Group, headquartered in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Under the guidance of Medical Director Dr. Kara Huncik and Director of Operations Denise Marsh, the team cares for nearly 175 pediatric patients daily.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our incredible pediatric team for achieving this certification," said CEO Troy Yarborough. "This accomplishment reflects your unwavering commitment to the highest standards in pediatric care. Your dedication makes a profound difference every single day and this milestone is a testament to your compassion and clinical excellence.”
The CHAP Board of Review issued certification to Hands of Hope based upon on-site visits, evaluation of program practices against nationally recognized pediatric certification standards and submission of a development plan.
“Developed in collaboration with leading experts and organizations, our comprehensive standards are designed to encompass health equity, family-centered partnerships and resilience," said CHAP COO Teresa Harbour. "This enables providers to exceed the critical needs of their young patients, ensuring every child has access to quality care tailored to their unique needs."
