PHOENIX, Ariz. (July 18, 2018)—EWheels announced it is venturing into the medical products and device manufacturing industry.

An entirely new company, EWheels Medical (ewheelsmedical.com) was created with all of the experience and energy of the EWheels brand.

"One of the major trends we are seeing in this industry is a shift to quality. It is not just about compliance,” said Andi Barness, national sales and marketing director. She noted that this is the case with a wide variety of medical products and devices that are no longer simply functional. Innovative companies will find a way to move beyond designing simply for compliance with FDA and other regulatory standards but, additionally, will be keeping the end user’s needs in mind in both the design process and the equipment features provided.

“In a nutshell, we are making mobility scooters sexy. Why drive a boring scooter when you can ride around on one with style and personality?” added Barness.

In addition to comfort and safety, Barness says customers should be proud of the scooters they drive. They should expect to see things such as race car colors, Bluetooth connections, USB ports, swivel executive chairs as well as scooters that are easy to disassemble and reassemble for easy transport.

EWheels Medical entered the market with its first electric mobility scooter, the EW-M34, a four-wheel, foldable scooter with a top speed of 4.5 mph, a weight capacity of 300 pounds and a distance of up to 10 miles on a single charge. This foldable scooter can be dismantled into five pieces with the heaviest piece weighing only 28 pounds. Other features include a swivel executive seat with adjustable arms, a battery that can be charged on or off the scooter and a large detachable basket with carrying handle.

Additional electric scooters available in late July 2018 include a three-wheel sister to the EW-M34, the EW-M33. A collapsible four-wheel silver scooter (EW-M44), a foldable racing blue four-wheel scooter (EW-M63) and a zippy red foldable four-wheel scooter (EW-M64).
