WASHINGTON—The House Committee on Energy and Commerce plans to discuss several homecare-related bills, including those related to home medical equipment payment relief, home infusion expansion and ultralight wheelchairs, during a hearing focused on expanding access to care for seniors.
Rep. Brett Guthrie, chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, and Rep. Morgan Griffith, chairman of the Subcommittee on Health, announced a hearing titled Legislative Proposals to Support Patient Access to Medicare Services that will take place on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026.
The hearing will focus on improving Medicare payment policies and expanding access to care for seniors.
These priority DME bills are among the measures that will be covered in the hearing:
- H.R. 2005, DMEPOS Relief Act of 2025 – AAH Issue Brief
- H.R. 1703, Choices for Increased Mobility Act of 2025 – AAH Issue Brief
- H.R. 2902, Supplemental Oxygen Access Reform (SOAR) Act of 2025 – Multi-stakeholder letter in support HR 2902 and Senate companion bill
Other bills to be discussed include:
- H.R. 5347, Health Care Efficiency Through Flexibility Act (Rep. Buchanan)
- H.R. 6210, Senior Savings Protection Act (Rep. Doris Matsui)
- H.R. 6361, Ban AI Denials in Medicare Act (Rep. Greg Landsman)

The hearing will be Thursday, Jan. 8 at 10:15 a.m. ET. This hearing will be open to the public and press and will be live-streamed at energycommerce.house.gov.
