HALIFAX, Va., Jan. 25, 2013—As reported by the National Association of Independent Medical Equipment Suppliers (NAIMES)—and courtesy of VGM—although CMS has not yet announced the Round 2 bid rates, it has begun its educational outreach for DME providers, beneficiaries and referral sources. Announced late last week, CMS will begin its first series of educational programs that are geared for referral sources.
As the DME industry persists in fighting competitive bidding, it remains important to keep up to date with the current bidding program. The purpose of these webinars is to ensure that your referral sources are fully aware of the rules and regulations of the current program and how it will affect Medicare beneficiaries who require home medical equipment. Providers should use these seminars as an opportunity to open the lines of communication with their referral sources, informing them of the flaws of the bidding program.
VGM has created a flier that may be distributed to your referral sources. The flier includes registration information for the upcoming seminars, as well as talks about some of the concerns with the program. Please make sure to communicate with your referral sources and urge them to join in the fight against competitive bidding. The flier is available on the VGM DC LINK in the “Resource Center” or download it here.
