Ticking through a now-familiar checklist of things providers must do to prepare for competitive bidding — "get accredited, get licensed, get bonded, update your NSC files" — CMS' Joel Kaiser reminded the audience at an Open Door Forum Wednesday that CMS has published a Special Edition MLN Matters article (SE0915) highlighting specific sections of the 855S Medicare enrollment application where the accuracy of the "authorized official" information and correspondence mailing address are "critical" for bid registration. If anything has changed since the last enrollment form was submitted to the National Supplier Clearinghouse, including any personal identifying information for the AO, "then you should PROMPTLY complete a change of information on the CMS-855S," according to the article. NSC processing time to complete any changes is approximately 45 days. Kaiser told listeners CMS is "very close" to finalizing a detailed timeline for the Round 1 rebid.
