ATLANTA (February 24, 2017)—Brightree, a provider of cloud-based software to improve clinical and business performance of post-acute care companies, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to develop ordering and processing capabilities for overnight pulse oximetry and home sleep apnea tests with Advanced Diagnostic Solutions, Inc. (ADSI), a diagnostic medical technology and patient care company that provides overnight home sleep apnea and pulse oximetry testing. This integration allows home medical equipment (HME) providers and physicians to benefit from a complete and closed-loop diagnostic testing order and result workflow.

ADSI works with HME suppliers to test patients for eligibility for home oxygen and sleep therapy. ADSI is compatible with all major oximeters, including its own Bluetooth oximeter for iOS and Android that uploads results quickly and will enable easy access within Brightree.

Brightree’s technology will allow HME providers to order ADSI services directly in their workflow. Providers will be able to send information electronically through the interface to complete the pulse oximetry or home sleep test ordering process, avoiding duplicate data entry and automating inbound results delivery as they order tests and process results. Automatic electronic ordering within the Brightree system replaces manual paper submissions done by fax and phone or through a testing partner’s website.

“As the HME industry undergoes changes that affect profitability and patient care, our new service will provide an effective means to manage and automate home-based testing for sleep apnea and pulse oximetry,” said Gary Long, Brightree’s chief business development officer. “By creating a more efficient process, we help lower the cost of processing the orders and enable providers to take care of patients more quickly through the ADSI-Brightree integration.”

The service also provides advantages for the patient. Since pulse oximetry and sleep apnea testing can be critical to beginning the treatment process for chronic illness, improving the turnaround time for results and ultimately equipment delivery means assisting referral sources with treatment in a timelier manner.

“By using technology to more effectively bridge the gap between testing and therapy, we will help initiate management and treatment of these conditions faster to improve patient outcomes,” said Nick Knowlton, Brightree’s vice president, business development. “This has the potential to positively impact the health and well-being of tens of thousands of patients per year.”

“Via our partnership with Brightree, we have created a solution that will streamline orders and enhance delivery processes, and thereby decrease paperwork and overall expenses,” said Brandon Womack, president of ADSI. “This integration will save HME providers a considerable amount of work and will speed up the entire ordering and results process.”
