OWINGS MILLS, Md. (March 14, 2016)—The Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) has won a Stevie Award for “E-Commerce Customer Service” in recognition of the organization’s innovative customer service support and social media efforts. BOC was awarded a Bronze Stevie Award.

The Stevie Awards are the world's premier business awards, created in 2002 to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and professionals around the world. This is the fifth Stevie Award BOC has received in four years, four of which came in recognition of the organization’s customer service.

“All of us at BOC are proud to be recognized again by the Stevie Awards, this time for both innovation and customer service. These two values influence the ways we communicate with our customers and optimize the e-commerce customer experience,” said BOC president and CEO, Claudia Zacharias, MBA, CAE.

One example of BOC’s innovation involved using SocialToaster, a social media amplification platform, to obtain signatures on a petition asking the White House to stop a change in Medicare coverage that would have negatively impacted amputees. Email communications, “sign the petition” artwork on company email signatures and the SocialToaster platform resulted in thousands of signatures. Based on actions by BOC and other stakeholder groups, the change in Medicare coverage was suspended pending further consideration.

BOC’s most recent Stevie Award is in the category of Customer Service & Contact Center Achievement, and BOC competed against more than 2,100 nominations, including those from large corporations such as 1-800-Flowers, Delta Air Lines and QVC. Winners were announced March 4 at the Stevie Awards ceremony in Las Vegas.
