PHILADELPHIA—BAYADA Home Health Care, a national independent nonprofit home health care provider, has been named to Modern Healthcare’s list of 2026 Innovators. Notably, BAYADA is the only homecare organization recognized, distinguishing it among hospitals, tech giants and health systems.
The award recognizes BAYADA’s Home Intensive Care Unit (HICU) program—a model that bridges the gap between neonatal/pediatric intensive care (NICU/PICU) discharge and traditional home nursing.
"For payers and hospital systems, the 'stuck' patient is a chronic challenge," said BAYADA. "Medically fragile children often remain in ICU beds long after they are clinically stable because the home-based infrastructure to support them doesn’t exist."
BAYADA’s HICU program is a 12-week, stepdown homecare solution specifically designed to solve this. BAYADA said the program is the only program developed by a homecare company that:
