WOODBRIDGE, Va. (October 16, 2019)—ATF Medical, which provides comprehensive medical equipment and adaptive housing solutions to the workers’ compensation industry, has hired Melissa Freeman, ATP, CEAS as senior rehabilitation consultant.

With 30 years of experience in assistive technology, vocational rehabilitation and seating and mobility services, Freeman analyzes durable medical equipment recommendations for injured workers, provides comprehensive explanations for ATF Medical’s solutions, and trains staff and clients.

Most recently she worked for Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation in Rome, Georgia, where she served as assistive work technology team lead. In addition to managing referrals and supervising assistive technology professionals, she conducted disability awareness training and consulted on job modification and accommodation cases. Freeman previously served as manager-seating and mobility specialist for Northwest Regional Hospital, also in Rome. 

“Melissa’s expertise in providing comprehensive clinical rationales for specific outcomes-oriented recommendations, especially important for complex files with numerous moving pieces, strengthens our clinically based services,” said ATF Medical’s executive director of Rehab Technology Erin Zablocki. “She also has a great deal of experience incorporating ergonomics and mobility services to help seriously injured employees return to work.”

Freeman holds several professional certifications, including RESNA Certified Assistive Technology Professional and Certified Ergonomics Specialist.
