CARY, North Carolina—Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Inc. (ACHC) has broken ground on an addition to its headquarters located in North Carolina’s Research Triangle. Plans call for tripling the size of the current building once the addition is completed in late 2024. The expanded headquarters is designed to accommodate more than 300 employees.

“ACHC has experienced tremendous growth over the past five years,” said José Domingos, president and CEO of ACHC. “This growth has afforded us the opportunity to expand our workforce to better serve the range of organizations we educate and accredit, and to support the healthcare professionals who depend on ACHC for guidance on quality improvement.”

The new building will enhance cross-departmental collaboration and promote efficiency for ACHC’s office-based employees by providing technology enhancements, energy efficiency, and improved amenities. ACHC also plans to use the expansion to deliver new education programs, featuring space both for dedicated ACHC facilities and also a compounding pharmacy cleanroom.

ACHC has retained Legacy Real Property Group of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to manage the property development. HagerSmith Design and Clancy & Theys Construction Company, both of Raleigh, will oversee architecture and interior design work and building and parking deck construction, respectively.

“The ACHC Board of Commissioners and staff leadership look forward to providing our teams and our guests with an inspiring environment that supports continued delivery of the best possible accreditation experience for the healthcare organizations we serve,” said Domingos.
