WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 12, 2018)—AAHomecare has developed a new two-page summary that recaps 16 significant reimbursement policy shifts affecting the HME community, including fee schedule adjustments, the implementation of competitive bidding, expansion of bidding-derived prices nationwide, and limiting the federal allowable for Medicaid.

The organization says the long history of federal cost cutting for HME in such stark terms leaves little doubt why HME supplier numbers have contracted by one-third since the onset of the competitive bidding program and why margins are razor-thin or even negative on many HME products.

AAHomecare will work to integrate this information into messaging on the need for fairer Medicare reimbursement policy for the industry and how best to share it with representatives on Capitol Hill.
