ATLANTA--Technology and software developer CareCentric announced last week it has acquired Jane's Billing & Consulting Services from well known HME billing and reimbursement consultant Jane Bunch. CareCentric--which earlier this year unveiled a corporate rebranding campaign and announced intentions to become a one-stop source for technology, operations and outsourcing solutions--said the addition will expand its offerings to include in-house billing and reimbursement services.
The company, which offers the MestaMed, Dezine and STAT 2 systems, introduced its new Internet-based management tool called Ac-Cura in April with plans to roll out the full-blown platform this fall. The system is designed to be "patient-centric," organizing various documentation around specific business lines including HME, home health and hospice. The company also said it plans to integrate an electronic CMN, and can customize the system based on size and type of business.
JB&CS provides billing and claims management for HMEs and pharmacies throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. The combination of a billing services company with management software--which offers online claims management, built-in payer authorization and automated missing-data checks--means that the pace of cash flow should be streamlined. "We are excited about this opportunity to complement our services with the latest in cutting-edge technology," said Bunch, who will assume a role as vice president, HME consulting, for CareCentric. "The combination of expertise in both process and automation will allow us to provide faster, more efficient billing and reimbursement services than ever before."
While JB&CS will dissolve, Bunch, a longtime HomeCare columnist, said that her billing staff will become part of CareCentric, and she will continue to travel, consult and offer training--"the things I love to do."
