Sunrise Medical announced that it will discontinue the Quickie Ti Titanium and the Quickie GTi effective Dec. 31, 2010, both constructed with titanium, in favor of chairs made with 7000 series aluminum.

FRESNO, Calif. — Sunrise Medical announced last week that it will discontinue the Quickie Ti Titanium and the Quickie GTi effective Dec. 31, 2010, both constructed with titanium, in favor of chairs made with 7000 series aluminum.

Launched in 2003, the Quickie Ti was one of the first titanium open rigid frame chairs on the market according to the manufacturer. But last year the company launched its Quickie Q7, designed with 7000 series aluminum, which Sunrise says weights less and offers comparable vibration dampening and durability to its titanium competitor. Its recently introduced Zippie Zone pediatric wheelchair utilizes the same technology.
