ATLANTA — GF Health Products made it official May 12 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new Atlanta facility, which relocates the company's Lumex recliner production from Taiwan.

With help from a local economic development program, the company renovated a 96,000-sq. ft. facility in the city's Doraville suburb and added another 7,200 square feet. The move represents a $1.75 million investment and 17 new jobs as the third phase in the manufacturer's Back in the USA! initiative.

The company kicked off the effort in July 2009 with production of the Patriot Homecare Bed at its Fond-du-Lac, Wis., facility.
