BALTIMORE — CMS said this week it has delayed the deadline for "Form C," which Round 1 contract suppliers must fill out listing the products they furnished to Medicare beneficiaries during the previous quarter.
The report is due within 10 calendar days of the end of each quarter, which would have put the deadline 10 days past March 31 for the first three months of competitive bidding. But a post on the CBIC website said since this will be the first submission of the report, "CMS is not requiring submission of the form within the 10-day requirement. Therefore, suppliers must submit their Form C no later than April 29, 2011."
That gives bid winners two weeks more to compile the report, which requires information on the model, manufacturer and model number for the top 80 percent HCPCS codes for each product category in each competitive bidding area for which they have a contract.
The form and instructions are posted to the CBIC website. The ability to print Form C will become available on April 1, the notice said.
According to an update from the American Association for Homecare, "CMS is trying to make submission of the form electronic as quickly as possible. However, CMS officials say this may not be accomplished until Round 2."
One important note: CMS warned providers that "data entered into Form C does not save. You may enter all required information at one time and then select 'Review and Print.'"
