WASHINGTON—The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) released a proposed rule on home health and durable medical equipment (DME) that includes new provisions for the next implementation of the Competitive Bidding Program (CBP), the American Association for Homecare (AAHomeCare) shared in an email with its members.

ARLINGTON, Virginia—The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released its consumer price index for all urban consumers (CPI-U) adjustment updates for calendar year (CY) 2025 durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies (DMEPOS) fee schedules, the American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) released in a recent newsletter to members.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 21, 2019)—Reps. Morgan Griffith (R-Va.) and Peter Welch (D-Vt.) are leading a Congressional sign-on letter asking CMS and HHS to reverse course on their recent decision to add non-invasive vents to the competitive bidding program for Round 2021.

In its July 11, 2018, proposed rule, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) pitched new lead item pricing as a measure to improve the competitive bidding program, saying the change would greatly reduce the complexity of the bidding process and the burden on suppliers since they would no longer have to submit bids for numerous items in a product category.
