(July 27, 2015)—Today, Covered California announced a modest proposed 4 percent statewide weighted average rate increase for plans offered in 2016 on their Health Insurance Marketplace, which is lower than last year’s increase of 4.2 percent. BALTIMORE, Maryland (July 8, 2015)—CMS released the first proposed update to the physician payment schedule since the repeal of the Sustainable Growth Rate through the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA).

WASHINGTON (Jan. 16, 2015)—According the American Association of Homecare, Marilyn Tavenner, who has served as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) since 2010, announced today that she will resign from the administration in February. Tavenner is most well known for implementing the roll-out of the Health Insurance Marketplace as part of the Affordable Care Act.

WASHINGTON (Jan. 6, 2015)—The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia held that it has the power to hear a challenge to the validity of a Medicare rule that requires physicians to provide a “narrative” explaining why the patient meets Medicare coverage standards for home health services. The court issued an order denying Medicare’s effort to have the lawsuit dismissed by the court.
