SALISBURY, N.C. — As the culmination of a community effort to raise the funds for its purchase, Alliance Seating & Mobility delivered a power wheelchair with stand-up capabilities to paralyzed Salisbury resident Tim Elrod. Elrod, who had been using a manual wheelchair after being injured in a vehicle accident a year ago, wanted to be able to stand again, especially when the time came to walk his daughter down the aisle. His LEVO Combi standing wheelchair with a Jay J2 Deep Contour seat cushion from Sunrise Medical was delivered Oct. 28.

"This new stand-up power wheelchair will make a tremendous difference in my life. It will allow me to accomplish many things that I had been forced to give up like working in my workshop and preparing dinner in the kitchen. It's really going to help immensely," said Elrod.

According to a release, Alliance, a division of The Scooter Store, LEVOUSA and its distributor MSL Associates, and Sunrise Medical also provided additional gifts. "This was the first LEVO Combi delivered by Alliance Seating & Mobility, and it positions the division to serve more disabled people who desire the many benefits of stand-up power wheelchairs," the release said.
