LOUISVILLE, Kentucky and MARYVILLE, Tennessee—OdessaConnect, a provider of TV-based telehealth solutions, has announced a new partnership with Blount Senior Care Partners (BSCP) located in Maryville, Tennessee. The collaboration will leverage OdessaConnect's virtual care platform and BSCP’s clinical expertise to bring specialized geriatric care, home-based primary care, and other support services to seniors in Blount County and surrounding areas.

"We are excited to partner with a respected and forward-thinking organization like BSCP to create a health care delivery model that will promote better outcomes for seniors," said Greg Kenny, chief innovation officer at OdessaConnect. "BSCP recognizes the importance of having a team-based approach to health care and shares our vision of bringing greater health equity and digital literacy to this vulnerable population. This partnership marks a significant step towards improving health care access for seniors and underscores Odessa's longer-term commitment to empower patients and their family members with the ability to create a care community around the patient.”

Cindy Canfield, chief operating officer of BSCP said they chose OdessaConnect because of its simplicity and the commitment Odessa demonstrated to the relationship.

“There are a lot of good technologies in the health care space, but very few vendors are willing to walk alongside the organization after the sale,” Canfield said. “Our patients didn’t grow up with smartphones and tablets, but they certainly know how to use a television. They will be very pleased to have the option of connecting with their health care provider on a much larger screen from the comfort of their home and we look forward to collaborating on a new model of care delivery in the home.”

Kenny will serve as the liaison between BSCP and Odessa’s design and development team, working to further enhance the value of Odessa’s service to the success of the partnership.

“This partnership will allow Odessa an opportunity to provide a level of digital accessibility to health care that didn’t exist for many seniors in East Tennessee,” said Todd Smith, OdessaConnect CEO and founder. “For all the focus on the last mile of connectivity, we can’t forget about the last few feet into the home; this is where we finally reach the patient and why we believe Odessa is a key component of the patient experience.”
