LUBBOCK, Texas—The MED Group announced Friday it has launched the National Orthotics & Prosthetics Network. Provider Tim Pederson, formerly of WestMed Rehab in Rapid City, S.D., will lead development of the group. “The changing reimbursement environment within the industry is creating the opportunity for more providers to expand into new business lines,” said Jeff Woodham, MED’s senior vice president and general manager, in a release. O&P represents a significant opportunity, he noted, and the new network will help the group’s members enter the category. The group will also reach out to 1,800 existing O&P providers to help with purchasing power and business efficiencies. Pederson will introduce the program at MED’s national business meeting April 12 in Las Vegas.
