HarmonyCares will implement the use of athenaOne, an AI technology that provides electronic health records & patient engagement capabilities

BOSTON—Athenahealth, Inc., a provider of network-enabled software and services for health care practices, announced that HarmonyCares, a national provider of in-home primary care services for individuals with complex health care needs, has implemented athenaOne, athenahealth’s suite of electronic health record (EHR), practice and revenue cycle management (RCM) and patient engagement capabilities with embedded artificial intelligence technologies.

Company officials said the implementation aims to enhance provider and patient experiences and improve HarmonyCares’ operations. By adopting the cloud-based platform, HarmonyCares’ clinicians will gain access to holistic patient information and user-friendly technology to streamline workflows and improve collaboration among care teams. This is expected to lead to enhanced quality of care and improved patient outcomes, the company said.

Currently, HarmonyCares employs more than 200 clinicians across 14 states through care partnerships with Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare Accountable Care Organizations programs. 

The company added this deal will also provide HarmonyCares with a current RCM system for driving better practice performance. AthenaOne features, such as real-time eligibility checks, automated claim scrubbing and its rules engine, will help HarmonyCares optimize financial operations while eliminating manual administrative work.
