NEW YORK (September 28, 2016)—Alliance Homecare, a concierge home health care provider serving individuals and families in New York City, Long Island, Westchester and the Lower Hudson Valley, recently announced the acquisition of Elder Care Alternatives (ECA). In light of this partnership, Elder Care Alternatives will now be known as AllianceECA. Services will continue to be provided by its present team of expert care managers.

The announcement was made as Alliance Homecare celebrates its 10th anniversary in September. The recent demand for comprehensive services to maintain older adults in their homes with both quality of care and quality of life was the driving force behind the new venture. ECA and Alliance Homecare have a shared philosophy and commitment to a multidisciplinary team approach to positive aging. The companies believe that physical and psychological wellness can only result from high-quality professional support. Helene Bergman, a 20-plus year veteran in the aging care arena and former president and founding board member of the Aging Life Care Association, formerly the National Association of Professional Geriatric Managers (NAPGCM), started ECA and will remain in an advisory capacity.

“Particularly as we mark our 10th year of providing exceptional service to our clients, we are thrilled about this new affiliation and the additional knowledge, skills and resources to which we have access,” said Greg Solometo, co-founder and CEO of Alliance Homecare. “We have always had tremendous respect for Helene Bergman, who created ECA. This new venture deepens and expands our care manager capabilities with a proven structured methodology, making our practice area even more robust. Together, we will continue to serve the ever-changing care needs of clients and their families—who are as important to us as our own.”

Helene Bergman created ECA in 1994 to assist older adults and their families attain a high quality of life in the face of acute or chronic challenges associated with aging. “Our philosophy from the onset has been that given consistent and superior care and support, older adults can age in place wherever they reside,” said Bergman. “Our relationship with Alliance Homecare is a testament to the outstanding service they have been providing for the past 10 years. The caliber of their staff and care management team is head and shoulders above any other aging care company.”

AllianceECA will now be located at the Alliance Homecare headquarters at 252 West 37th Street, Suite 600W in New York.
